Is Bahrain moving to e-invoicing? How to prepare

Figures in this article are based on published guidance at the time of writing. Always check them against the latest official guidance before acting.
What e-invoicing means
E-invoicing means issuing invoices as structured data in a format a tax authority can read, often submitted or cleared electronically. A PDF sent by email is not an e-invoice in this sense.
Where Bahrain stands
Several Gulf states have introduced or announced e-invoicing requirements. At the time of writing, we are not aware of a confirmed mandate date for Bahrain. Check the National Bureau for Revenue for the latest position.
What you can do now
Preparation does not depend on a date.
- Hold seller, buyer, line items, tax and totals as clean data
- Use unique, sequential invoice numbering
- Keep customer tax details complete
- Avoid editing invoices after issue; use credit notes
- Choose systems that can add an official format later
How Pragma helps
Pragma already stores every invoice as structured data with unique numbering. When rules are announced, we configure the official format and submission, and you switch it on.
