Wage Protection System

WPS Payroll for Bahrain

The Wage Protection System requires private-sector employers in Bahrain to pay salaries through approved channels. Pragma turns an approved payroll into the bank file in one step.

What WPS asks of an employer

Under WPS, salaries for private-sector workers are paid by bank transfer through a system that lets the authorities confirm wages are paid in full and on time. For the employer, that means preparing a salary file each month in the format the bank accepts, with each employee's details and net pay.

Mistakes in that file mean rejected payments, delayed salaries and unhappy staff.

From payroll to file, with no retyping

Pragma holds each employee's bank details and identifiers in their record. When payroll is approved, the WPS file is generated from the same figures that appear on the payslip. Nobody copies numbers into a template.

Checks before release

Before a file is released, Pragma checks for missing IBANs, duplicate employees and totals that do not agree with the approved payroll. Problems are shown in plain language.

  • Bank formats for major Bahraini banks
  • Validation before download
  • A record of every file generated and by whom
  • Linked to GOSI, leave and loans in the same run
